Merry Christmas 2011

There's a Christmas song that says "it's the most wonderful time of the year." Even more so when comparing Denise from this year's Christmas card photo with the photo from the 2005 card (located here). Recovery continues, long and slow (and sometimes frustrating), but also marked with progress. Denise's titers for cocci continue to show no cause for concern, so her I.D. doctor lengthened the number of months between visits. Also, though she did go for MRI and CT scans to see if the cocci has progressed further in her brain, Denise did not have to go for a spinal tap at all in 2011! And so we hope the trend continues. Merry Christmas, and best wishes for 2012!

Denise,
I certainly will pray for your health to continue. I am writing today, because it has been 1 year since the passing of my brother Jim. He passed from disseminated Valley Fever, which they found when they removed his left lung. He only hung on for 2 weeks, and is resting in the Lords hands. Kingman General Hospital & surrounding doctors treated him for pneuomia(sp?) for two months, and by the time it was diagnosed Valley Fever, it was much too late. I read up often on the conditions, and will try in the next year to assist the organizations and doctors who are trying to find a vaccine. I wish you a healthy & prosperous New Year!
